Also, re-reading my comment from earlier, Fink would have obliterated me. That’s what happens when you write it from a phone in the San Francisco airport.

Fink was such an influence on me I found myself explaining and describing him to my co-workers after and during the Saints-49ers game.

Josh -

I can’t call you a rascal, I can’t reply you snarkily “pal.” My stories don’t involve traipsing through the rice patties in Vietnam or riding through the Khyber Pass.

But like you, I have those memories of Fink. And lik you, I can think of no bigger influence in my journalism career than Fink.

Thanks for this wonderful obit. Edits aside (and Fink would inevitably have edits galore), thanks for this.
